Vassilis Kourmpetis

Vassilis Kourmpetis, CIO

Vassilis Kourmpetis is responsible for the overall investment strategy and leads the portfolio management function.

Vassilis has over 15 years of investment experience in public markets. Prior to Sherpa Asset Management, Vassilis worked as a Senior Analyst at Marylebone Partners LLP, a London-based, multi-asset investment management boutique and at Corestone Investment Managers AG, a Zug-based asset manager. He also worked as a Product Specialist for Bloomberg’s Portfolio & Risk Analytics department in London. Vassilis started his career as an Equity Analyst at National Securities S.A, the Investment Banking arm of National Bank of Greece.

He holds a Masters in Finance from London Business School, a Masters in Finance from the University of Piraeus and a Bachelors in Economics from the University of Macedonia (Thessaloniki, Greece).

Vanessa W. Busser, CEO & CFO

Vanessa W. Büsser is responsible for all corporate aspects including financial strategy, planning, regulatory body conformity and oversight of the outsourced contracts including the Compliance Function. She is also a member of the corporate executive committee and on the board of several investment vehicles.

Vanessa has 19 years of experience in Private Markets working in various Entrepreneurs Advisor and Private Asset Management Firms in Switzerland where she gained experience working with an array of Mandates and Funds, including Collateralized Debt Fund Obligations, Advisory/Non-Discretionary/Discretionary Mandates, Fund-of-Funds, Luxembourg Fund Structures and Clean Energy and Infrastructure Funds. Prior to joining Sherpa Asset Management in 2021, most recently, she was the Head of Controlling, Fund Operations and Risk Manager at Fontavis AG, a Clean-Energy and Infrastructure investment fund manager, which was acquired by Swiss Life Asset Managers.

She holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A) as well as a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Marketing/Minor in Biology from Jacksonville State University (JSU) (USA), graduating with Honors.

Ismail Ones

Ismail Ones, Head of Operations

Ismail is responsible of the daily operations of the firm’s portfolios, managing cash flow and collaborating with custodians, fund administrators, and investors. He is also responsible for the firm’s operational and administrative activities.

With over six years of experience in Financial Services audit, Ismail has a solid background in financial oversight and regulatory compliance. Before joining Sherpa Asset Management AG, he held audit roles at PricewaterhouseCoopers AG in Zurich and Deloitte in Luxembourg, focusing on Private Equity, Real Estate, and Traditional Investment Funds. His work included financial statement reviews under IFRS, Luxembourg GAAP, and Swiss GAAP FER, challenging valuation methodologies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

He is a qualified member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), earned in 2024, and holds a Master’s degree in Accountancy, Control, and Audit from the University of Franche-Comté (France).

Samuel de Montmollin

Samuel de Montmollin, INVESTMENT ANALYST

Samuel de Montmollin is contributing to all components of the investment cycle: From idea generation & research, to fund/security selection and monitoring, as well as to Sherpa’s portfolio and risk analytics framework.

His core competency is in investment management, with a particular focus on quantitative analysis and programming. Samuel has over 5 years of experience in the financial markets. Prior to joining Sherpa Asset Management in 2022, he was a data analyst at UBS AG. He also worked for the Swiss Social Security fund – Compenswiss and at TotalEnergies SE trading floor.

He is a CFA Charterholder and holds a Masters in Banking and Finance from the University of St. Gallen and a Bachelor in Management from the University of Lausanne.
